Wilma Leona Harris, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great, great-grandmother passed away peacefully in Corpus Christi on December 31, 2023. She was born on January 6, 1932, in Dilley, Texas.

Wilma had dedicated many years of her life as an accountant for a construction company. She worked diligently and brought her expertise to the job every day. Her dedication and commitment were truly admirable.

Outside of her career, Wilma found joy in various hobbies and interests. She loved attending the YWCA, where she could bond with others and engage in activities that brought her happiness. She also cherished the moments spent at the movies with her dear friend Pat. These shared experiences created beautiful memories that Wilma held close to her heart.

While Wilma had numerous accomplishments throughout her life, two stood out with immense pride. She was a devoted member of the Annaville Baptist Church where she found solace and strength in her faith. The church community provided not only spiritual guidance but also a loving support system that Wilma cherished dearly. Additionally, she held a membership in the Red Hats Society—a testament to her vibrant spirit and zest for life.

Wilma is preceded in death by her loving husband Gilbert Harris, who undoubtedly welcomed her into eternal peace with open arms. Together they shared a lifetime of love and companionship.

Wilma's memory will forever be cherished by her nine children: Butch (Judy) Harris, Penny (Gene) Casas, Rhonda (Jeff) Bell, Pam (Bill) Hill, Paula (Rick) Shadle, Patty (Joel) Rhyne, Tina Pohlmeyer, Cliff (Sarah) Ridge, and Dallas (Crystal) Harris. Each child is a testament to the love and legacy that Wilma leaves behind. Her nurturing nature and unwavering support shaped their lives in countless ways.

In addition to her children, Wilma leaves behind a legacy of love through her 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great, great-grandchild. Their lives have been enriched by the love and wisdom she bestowed upon them.

A funeral service to celebrate Wilma's life will be held on January 6, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Annaville Baptist Church in Corpus Christi. Friends and family are invited to join together in mourning and remembrance on this solemn occasion. The church is located at 4025 Violet Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78410.

Following the funeral service, a heartfelt private interment will take place.

Wilma Leona Harris was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of all those she encountered. Her kind heart, unwavering faith, and unconditional love will forever remain etched in our memories. As we say our final goodbyes, let us remember her with joy and gratitude for her beautiful life and the profound impact she had on all of us.
