William Duke Thompson Corpus Christi, TX William Duke “Bill” Thompson of Corpus Christi, Texas, returned to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Bill was born in Dallas, Texas, on April 14, 1941. He was welcomed back into Heaven by his parents, William Vernon & Oleta Faye Thompson, his brother, Jerry Armstrong, and brothers-in-law Roy Sitton & Gary Mosier. Bill is survived by his son, William James (Christi) Thompson, his siblings, Linda Sitton, Scott Thompson, Paul (Velda) Thompson, his three beloved grandchildren Amanda Penny, Matthew & Eric Thompson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill’s previous wife, Kay (Charles) Sloate, her siblings, Chester (Vilma) Mosier, Donna Allen and her parents, James & Betty Mosier also survive him. Bill was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed a long and successful career in dental equipment sales. He valued spending time with family and friends. He loved fast boats, classic cars and fishing the flats of the Laguna Madre. He cherished the time he spent as a loving, devoted father, grandfather, and friend to all. His kind soul will truly be missed by all he knew. Interment services with full military honors will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 18, 2013, at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 9974 IH 37 Access Road, Corpus Christi, Texas 78410. A wake and celebration of Bill’s life will be held by family and friends at Chat’s Drive In, 721 Airline Rd, later in the evening – all are welcomed.
