William Raymond "Bill" Greenwood, 59, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011. He was born September 26, 1951 in Sinton, Texas to Jesse Bernard and Charlsie Drum Greenwood. He started first grade in Odem, lived in Tehran, Iran with his family his 3rd and 4th grade years, then returned to Odem and graduated from Odem High School in 1970. Bill attended Bee County Junior College for 2 years taking business mid-management courses. He started in the glass industry in 1973 with PPG Industries, Inc. with 20 years of service and retirement. Bill's last employer was Thad Ziegler Glass, Ltd of San Antonio, Texas with almost 5 years of service before he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He had over 30 years experience in the glass industry and was respected state-wide for his character of business. Bill served on the Evergreen Cemetery Association Board in Odem, Texas, was President of the Cal-Anna Lions Club in the Calallen-Annaville area of Corpus Christi, was President for two years of the Northwest Youth Basketball league in Calallen, coached four boys youth basketball teams and five girls youth basketball teams in the Northwest Youth Basketball league and coached three boys and three girls basketball teams in the Corpus Christi Youth Basketball League. He was a member of River Hills Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Shackelford Greenwood; his children, Lindsay Ann Greenwood and Lance Shackelford Greenwood; his granddaughters, Hannah, Taylor and Payton all of Corpus Christi, Texas; his father, Jesse Bernard Greenwood of Odem, Texas; his sister, Jan Greenwood Woodson of Arlington, Texas; and his brother, Roger Bernard Greenwood of Horsham, England. Visitation will be from 1 P.M. until 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Friday, February 25, 2011 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at River Hills Baptist Church with Brother Bill Simmons and Brother Willis Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Odem, Texas. Pallbearers will be James Cockrell, Larry Cockrell, Bobby Cockrell, Quenton Dokken, Kim Janicke, Larry Smith, Jim Wann and Jerry Setliff.
