William (Bill) H. Davis Jr., 91, died Friday, November 16, 2012. He was born May 15, 1921 to William H. and Lela Davis in Meeker, Colorado. At an early age he moved to Rifle, Colorado. When he was seven years old he moved with his family to Atoka, Oklahoma where his grandparents lived. It was at his home in Atoka where he gained knowledge of the Bible that would have a profound effect on his life. His mother and sister set an excellent example for him to follow in pursuing Bible truths and Christian living. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on June 14, 1942 and has faithfully served Jehovah, the only true God, throughout his life. He always considered it a privilege to know Jehovah and have a relationship with him. Bill moved to Corpus Christi in 1946 and has lived here ever since. He has had the privilege of serving with several congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He married Maurine Smith in 1948. They have enjoyed life together for 64 years and raised two children. He is survived by his wife, Maurine; his daughter, Cathy Tijerina; his son, Ronald Davis (Ginger); one grandson, Ryan Davis (Jamie); five step-grandchildren and a sister, Miriam Davis of Atoka, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 19, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, 12497 Leopard St. A memorial service will be conducted on Monday, November 19, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 6050 Leopard St. Burial will be private.
