William “Bill” M. Burwell, Jr., 84, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed on to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at his home. He was born May 25, 1928 in Cotulla, Texas to Mary Catherine Lann Burwell and William M. Burwell, Sr. Bill was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a graduate of the University of Texas School of Pharmacy where he was a member of Kappa Psi, had been a pharmacist for 56 years and had owned and operated Burwell’s Pharmacy in Annaville. Bill was a member of Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church, the Sons of the Confederate Veterans and the Sons of the American Revolution. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Robert Burwell. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Linda Burwell of Corpus Christi, Texas; his daughter, Mary A. (Bill) Ahrens of Corpus Christi, Texas; his son, William Robert (Laurie) Burwell of Pinckney, Michigan; his brother, Paddy L. (Bettye) Burwell of Westhoff, Texas; his sisters, Mary Catherine (James) Harrison of Pryor, Oklahoma, Marguerite (Billy) Smith of George West, Texas, and Betty Gwynne Loegel of Santee, California; his grandsons, Travis Ahrens of Corpus Christi, Texas, Jacob Barnett and Gavin Burwell both of Pinckney, Michigan; granddaughter, Emilee Ahrens of Corpus Christi, Texas; nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 7 P.M. with the family present from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 P.M. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Jackson Woods Presbyterian Church with Pastor Steven Arndt officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Robert Burwell, Travis Ahrens, Bill Ahrens, Jacob Barnett, Randy Burwell, Gavin Burwell and Blair Burwell.
