William Lynn Benys, “Cowboy,” 78, graduated from his earthly plain into the loving arms of our Lord Saturday, December 18, 2021.
He was born an American patriot on September 27, 1943.
Serving in the National Guard, protecting lives and property during times of national disasters.
He continued his education at Del Mar Technical Institute in auto mechanics and welding. Eventually landing his dream job at C.C.A.D for 40+ years where he continued to serve his country as a civilian.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Willa Mae Benys; brother, Sherman Otto Benys, Sr.; sister, Mary Kaye Fuller; nephews, Travis Plemons, Sherman Otto Benys, Jr., recently killed in the line of duty with the Kingsville Police Department.
He is survived by his oldest brother, Victor Benys, Jr.; his many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; his sister-in-laws, Joan and Maggie Benys, and his best friend and life partner of 25 years, Paula Terrell.
Visitation will be held from 2:00PM - 5:00PM on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 also from 10:00AM to 11:30AM on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 11:30AM on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow. Interment will follow in Seaside Memorial Park cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas, at 1:00PM.
