Wanda Lea Dippel Hoelscher of Kingsville died Saturday December 7, 2024 in Corpus Christ, TX.
Wanda was born to John D and Sophie Weiting Dippel in Bonnie View, Texas on July 29, 1938. Wanda was a graduate of Woodsboro High School where she was a top athlete playing both basketball and volleyball. A gift which she passed down to her children and grandchildren.
After High School, Wanda moved to Robstown, where she worked as a telephone operator. She then moved to Corpus Christi, where she attended business school and was employed as receptionist for the City of Corpus Christi. In 1961, Wanda married David Hoelscher and they moved to the Lasara/Hargill, Texas area. There they started a farming business, which they operated for 48 years. Throughout Wanda’s life, she served as world traveler, operations manager, seamstress, chef, counselor, project manager, event planner, hostess (with the mostess), head cheerleader for the family, and treasured friend, sister, mother and wife. Most importantly, Wanda was always a faithful servant to God. She was an active member of St. Anthony’s Parish in Raymondville until 2010, when she moved to Kingsville and became an active member of St. Gertrude's Parish.
Wanda will be celebrated as a life well lived.
Wanda is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, David Hoelscher, son; Dennis James Hoelscher, brother; Murray Dippel, Kervin Dale Dippel, Jake Dippel, Perry (Bee) Dippel and sister; Nell Christopher.
She is survived by her sister, Doris Blaschke of Woodsboro, Texas, children; Daughters, Pam Cliburn of Woodsboro, Texas, Carol (Mark) Thormaehlen of Wallis, Texas, and Leigh Ann Coufal of Kingsville, Texas; Son, John (Deanna) Hoelscher of Violet, Texas. Grandchildren, Matthew Cliburn (Veronica), Kara Cliburn, Kyle Cliburn, Ryan Thormaehlen (Laura), Eric Thormaelen (Victoria), Reid Thormaehlen (Sephra), Joseph Coufal, Annie Coufal, Jake Coufal, Jackson Hoelscher, Colton Mason (Eleanor), Kara Thompson (John); (7) Great-Grandchildren
A Rosary will be recited at St. Gertrude’s Church in Kingsville on Thursday, December 12, 2024; viewing 5-7pm-Rosary at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas on Saturday, December 14, 2024- Viewing at 10:00 am/Funeral at 11am.
Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Violet. Reception at St. Anthony’s Parish Hall in Violet.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Cliburn, Ryan Thormaehlen, Joseph Coufal, Jackson Hoelscher, Eric Hoelscher, and Greg Hoelscher.
The family would like to send a special “Thank you” to the nurses and doctors of the Trauma Unit of Spohn Shoreline Hospital for their extraordinary compassion and support during this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to HALO-Flight of South Texas or St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church of Kingsville.
