Wanda Armstrong

Wanda May Armstrong, 83, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on January2, 2016. Wanda was born on May 7, 1932 in Electra, Texas. She was baptised at age 12 and graduated High School in Electra, Texas. Wanda was married to Edward Armstrong Jr. for 61 years. She and Ed moved to Corpus Christi in 1958 to raise their family. Wanda attended Del Mar Nursing School, was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and its choir and also Tops Club 532. She enjoyed the piano, painting and her roses. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Ed in 2012 and five brothers and two sisters. Wanda is survived by two sons, Edward Armstrong III (Carolyn) and Jerry Armstrong (Debbie) all of Corpus Christi; her grandchildren, Melissa Bird, Stacy (Andrew) Nichols, Jeremy (Michelle) Armstrong, Edward (Sheena) Armstrong IV, Shaye Armstrong, Brad (Reagan) Dear and eight great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10am Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family would like to thank Bethany, all of the special people at Christus Hospice and to Edna Garza with Grammy’s one on one care for all of Wanda’s loving care.
