Virginia Natus Willis, 102, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died on July 22, 2014. She was born on April 10, 1912 in Brownsville, Texas to John and Maria Gonzalez Natus. She lived most of her life in Corpus Christi and was a member of Jackson Woods Presbyterian Chruch. She was a homemaker and was most happy working in her garden and tending to her animals. She was a kind and happy person. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Allen Willis Sr. and sons, John Allen Willis Jr. and Robert Knox Willis; sisters, Consuelo Garcia and Pearl Nickles. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ella Leonard; daughter-in-laws, Elaine Willis and Lynne Willis; granddaughters, Julie Mitchell, Carrie Zirbes, Robin Garza(Woit) and Joni McCain (Michael); grandsons, Brent Willis (Eva) and Scott Willis; great-grandchildren, Nathan Mitchell, Walter Mitchell, Christopher Garza, Hunter Garza, Katie Zirbes, Julie Ann Zirbes, Grace Willis and Aubrie Willis; Nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank Christus Hospice and Palliative-Spohn and their staff; her caregivers, Roxanne Bazan, Alice Taylor and the late Nancy Weir. Pallbearers will be Wolf Garza, Christopher Garza, Hunter Garza, Walter Mitchell and Nathan Mitchell. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday, July 25, 2014 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, with Rev. Leona Corkill officiating. Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
