Virginia Lynch

Virginia Hinkel Lynch passed away on January 18, 2017 at the age of 91 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on October 10, 1925 to Bernhardt and Erna Hinkel in Weimar, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clifton and Kenneth Hinkel; sister, Dorothy Proske; and former husband, James A. Lynch. She is survived by her son, Jamin Lynch and daughter, Carolyn (John) Swetlick; grandsons, Bradley Lynch and John Swetlick (Lanicia); granddaughters, Christine Van Well (Francois) and Joan Swetlick; great grandchildren, Ryan and Stella Van Well, Aynsley Chalupka, Parker, Emma and Joslyn Swetlick; sister, Charlene Cotten; and sister-in-law, Ann Trowbridge. Virginia graduated from the University of Texas, John Sealy College of Nursing in Galveston. As a registered nurse, she worked for the Robstown Hospital, Dr. Belo Stone, then the Robstown ISD as school nurse. After taking a break to raise a family, Virginia enrolled at Corpus Christi State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing followed by a Master of Science degree in Counseling. She returned to school nursing then became a vocational health teacher with the Robstown ISD. Virginia liked to play the piano and sing. She was a longtime church and choir member of the First Baptist Church of Robstown and River Hills Baptist Church. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff of Windsor-Calallen and to Dr. Kent Tompkins. Visitation will be held at 8 AM on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at River Hills Baptist Church, 16318 FM 624, Robstown, Texas. Funeral services will begin at 9 AM followed by interment at Memorial Pak Cemetery, 4607 FM 1889, Robstown, Texas.
