Our beloved Virgil Curtis Burton went quietly to be with his Lord and Saviour on Saturday afternoon, April 6, 2024. He was 81 years old. Virgil was born on March 5, 1943 in San Antonio, TX. His parents were Melmoth Stuart Burton and Adele Barchak Burton. When Virgil was a young age, his mother was killed in a traffic accident by a drunk driver. His dad remarried and Virgil had a second mother, Mary Hybner that he dearly loved.
In one of Virgil's jobs, he worked for Corpus Christi theaters. There he met the love of his life, Sandra Gail McDonald. They went on to marry. They went to Weber Road Baptist Church where Virgil was saved and started serving the Lord in the church. After a while, they moved to Odem, TX. Virgil and Sandra joined the Bible Baptist Church outside of Odem and became very faithful in serving there. They worked in the Sunday School Department and Virgil also worked helping the pastor with visitation and different things. Later Virgil felt led to move to Bible Believers Baptist Church where he was a member until his death. Virgil LOVED being taught about the bible. He loved deer hunting and anything to do with animals and nature. Virgil had various jobs over the years and eventually opened Virgil Burton Gauging Service.
Virgil is preceded in death by his wife Sandra Gail, his parents, M.S. and Adele Burton, Mary Burton, Brother, Sonny Burton, and Sister, Patsy Brown.
