Vicki is also survived by her siblings, Wilma Grupe (Otis), Lisa Teltschik, Skip Hedgpeth (Kerry); sister-in-law Sug Hedgpeth; 9 nieces and nephews, 16 great-nieces and nephews and former mother-in-law, Pauline Pollard. Vicki was excitedly expecting to become a great-grandmother in March to Sutton Suede Wimberly.
Vicki graduated from Banquete High School. She was a flute player, twirler and Drum Major and was voted Band Sweetheart. She dedicated her life to serving others through work and volunteering. She was an Accounting Manager by trade with a career spanning 36 years. She worked for Massey Farms, Kennedy Nemec Insurance and The Wilson Group and assisted with bookkeeping at PA Gin and French Roofing. After retirement she decided she had more to give and worked at First Christian Church as their Accounts Manager. Vicki loved to help youth reach their full potential and volunteered with the Nueces County 4-H Program as a 4-H Leader and was the Homemaking Show Director for the NCJLS. She was one of the founding members of the Nueces County Jr. Livestock Show Scholarship program. She mentored many children with their 4-H projects, record books and sewed many of the dresses worn by Stock Show Queen contestants. Vicki was an expert seamstress, outfitting numerous brides and creating book covers for local Emmaus Walks, a Christian organization she was passionate about.
Vicki loved music, singing in church choirs, local praise bands and has been known to join in on good honky tonk tunes around the fire with her family. She loved all things beautiful and her “eye” for decorating was sought out by others. Her pride and joy was her family. She did whatever it took to provide support for those she loved. Vicki was known for her sweet nature, but make no mistake, she carried a big stick! She enjoyed spending time with the Jesus Girls, her Ya-Yas, and most importantly her kids and grandkids. Above all else, Vicki loved her Lord. There is no doubt that when she saw Jesus reach out for her, she couldn’t turn Him down. We will miss her immeasurably.
