Ursula Inge Holland 69, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. Everyone who knew her admired her strength and bravery during this time. She was born June 25, 1944 to Bruno and Charlotte Schmidt in Meissen, Germany. She married Norman Lee Holland on May 15, 1962 and subsequently moved to the United States settling in the Sandia, Texas area after residing a short time in Crossett, Arkansas. Ursula loved music, dancing, her family, and traveling. Ursula is survived by two daughters, Anita Rogers (Randy) and Deana Cline (James); three grandchildren, Corey Holland (Katie), Thomas Rogers, and Katelyn Rogers; one brother, Lutz Schmidt; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years and her parents. A Memorial Service for her will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1205 E. San Patricio St., Mathis, Texas with Pastor Marcia Kline officiating. In lieu of flowers donations to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or the cancer research foundation of your choice is encouraged.
