Tyrone "Tony" Wayne Looper found peace and went to Heaven on Sunday morning, April 26, 2015, after losing his battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson's Disease. Tony was 70 years old, born on May 2, 1944, in Aransas Pass, Texas. Tony served as a Sergeant with the United States Army from 1962-1968. Tony married his forever love, Cindy Marshall, on May 30, 1970, almost 45 years ago. He worked as an auto mechanic and then worked for the Corpus Christi Police Department as a Police Sgt. from 1973 until his retirement in 2000. During that time Tony worked extra security jobs at the movie theaters, motorcycle police escort, and Corpus Christi dog races so he could provide more financial security for his family. He wore his badge with honor. Tony had many hobbies throughout his life which included golf, fishing, motorcycles, boats, horses, trail rides, bowling, playing guitar, loved going to Vegas and many more. Tony was a man that would tell you like it is, like it or not. If you were lucky enough to win his trust, then you had a forever friend. He believed in second chances and forgiveness. He valued the cowboy way of life, and lived by its code, where a handshake and a man’s word, were just as good as a piece of paper. He enjoyed retirement by spending his mornings with his buddies at the Taqueria Guadalajara off 624, playing golf at River Hills Country Club & riding his Harley with his buddies. Tony had piercing blue eyes and a smile that could melt hearts. Tony appreciated the simple pleasures in life and lived life to its fullest. Tony loved to watch his grandkids play sports, ride horses, school events and was proud to be their Paw Paw. He loved his life and family so much that he fought hard to stay with us. Tony and Cindy shared a love story that few get to live. Tony was a friend, father, grandpa, hero and husband. He will forever be in our hearts and forever missed... Our family sends a special thanks to Hospice & especially to Garden Homes, Sam & Raoul Sanchez and their wonderful, loving staff. Our family would have been lost without their care, love and faith. Tony is preceded in death by his mother, Susie Zoe Miller; father, Phillip Warren Looper; sister, Darlene Looper Cantu. Tony is survived by his wife, Cindy Looper of Robstown (Calallen), Texas; mother-in-law, Dorothy Marshall of Corpus Christi, Texas; son, Tyrone Wayne Looper (Lori) of McDade, Texas; daughter, Jill Looper McCreary (Michael) of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter, Shereen Bickham (Danny) TX; his grandchildren, Colton & Connor McCreary, Kadence & Autum Looper, Jake & Zack Bickham; sister, Devon Looper Brown (Terry); brothers, Floyd Looper and Roy Holley; several cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
