Thomas Orem, Sr.

Mike Orem, Sr. passed away on April 11, 2015 after a 19 year battle with cancer. He was born on November 11, 1943 in Dallas, Texas to Morris and Jewel Orem. Mike proudly served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps. He retired from Koch Refining (Flint Hills Refining) after 31 years of work. He enjoyed helping family, friends, neighbors and everyone he could. Mike spent numerous years and a generous amount of time at Northwest Little Miss Kickball where a field has been named in his honor. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. Mike is survived by his wife, Eva Cardona Orem; children, Danyailla Flores-Orem, Mike Orem, Jr. (Emily), Michelle Bauch (Brian), Denise George (Reggie), Carlos Flores (Maria Bone), Donaciano Flores, Jr. (Esther), Maria Flores (Jash Hubbard); siblings, Patrick Orem (Judy) and Dixie Lincoln; and 12 grandchildren. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am Monday, April 20, 2015, at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 12 noon.
