Theresa Simons

Theresa Tekla Simons, age 90, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away June 23, 2010. She was born September 18, 1919 in Cestohowa, Texas to Alois and Rosie Moczygemba. She later moved to McCook, Texas where she lived until she married Andrew J. Simons on December 4, 1943 in Mission, Texas. They later settled in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she was a well-known seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew, her parents, Alois and Rosie Moczygemba, her brothers, Clement and Sylvester Moczygemba, her sisters, Magdalene Kuehler and Elizabeth Martine. Theresa is survived by her seven children, Rosemary (Albert) Kimball of Houston, Texas, Linda (Jasper) Atkinson of Corpus Christi, Texas, Andy (Peggy) Simons of Corpus Christi, Texas, Loraine (Norbert) Schroeder of Violet, Texas, JoAnn (Mike) Montgomery of Houston, Texas, Darrell (Melanie) Simons of Victoria, Texas, Gale (Eddie) Hoelscher of College Station, Texas. Theresa leaves behind eighteen grandchildren, Dean Kimball, Chamarie, Dewayne (Heather), Natasha and Darren (Whitney) Atkinson, Kelly Simons (Shane) Alexander, Kerri Simons (Jay) Pittman, Rosie Schroeder (Corey) Collier, Troy (Courtney) Schroeder, Jamie, Mary, Anna and James Dean Montgomery, Darrell Cannon, Jr., Casey and Chase Simons, Edward Joseph, Jr. and Lauren Hoelscher and seventeen great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Monday, June 28, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 11:00 A.M at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet with Rev. Greg Labus as celebrant. Interment will follow in Seaside Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Dean Kimball, Dewayne and Darren Atkinson, Troy Schroeder. James Montgomery, Darrell Cannon, Jr., Casey and Chase Simons and Edward Joseph Hoelscher, Jr. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church, 3918 County Road 61, Robstown, TX 78380.
