Terrell Henry Wyatt Jr., born on September 3, 1936, in Luling, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025. He lived a life by his strong work ethic and unwavering dedication to his family and career.
Terrell dedicated many years of his professional life to the Corpus Christi Army Depot before continuing his journey with Boenig for several years. His passion for education led him to Del Mar College, where he made a significant impact as the founder of the Non Destructive Testing (NDT) program. Terrell also established Wyatt Enterprises, which afforded him opportunities to travel abroad, where he recertified students in NDT—a testament to his commitment to the advancement of others.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Terrell was a man of quiet faith, grounding himself in values that resonated deeply throughout his life. His interests were varied; he enjoyed all forms of music and took pride in being the sound man for Flo’s music, diligently recording her practices and performances. Terrell found joy in hunting and treasured his time spent at the family ranch in Utopia, Texas, along with his ventures to the casinos which brought him happiness and excitement.
He is survived by his former wife, Mary Esther Wyatt; his children, Terrell Allen Wyatt, Teddy Charles Wyatt, Tonda Lajuan Wyatt Johnson, and Sharon Kay Wyatt; his sisters, Imagene Lindsey and Jane Kay (Frank) Elkins; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who carry on his legacy.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Florene Jeannette Wyatt, who was the mother of his children, his sons Norman Swinney and Mike Swinney, and his parents, Terrell Henry Wyatt Sr. and Ima Wyatt.
Terrell Henry Wyatt Jr. will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his love for his family, and the lasting impact he made on those who had the privilege to know him.
