Sylvia Gonzalez

Sylvia Carleen Gonzalez, age 67, passed away, unexpectedly, on Friday, April 7th, 2023, at Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born August 14th, 1955, in Sanford North Carolina, to Bernard Odell Langston SR, and Carlotta Strickland Cameron. She graduated at Lee High School, in Sandford, North Carolina.

She was married to her soulmate, Donald T. Gonzalez, on December 16th, 1979. Together, they raised their three children in Fayetteville, North Carolina and continued to do so when they moved to Corpus Christi, Texas.

She will always be remembered as being a quiet, but steady person, who’s love for her family was unwavering. She made a mean lemon merengue pie, and will always be remembered for her love of reading. She was an excellent grandmother, and loved participating in movie nights with her grandchildren, where she would make sure they all had their root beer floats to enjoy.

There aren’t enough words to express how much she will be missed.

She is proceeded in death by both of her parents, and her husband, as well as her older brother, Mr. Bernard Odell Langston JR..

She is survived by her three children; Donald T. Gonzalez JR, Devon Denise Alvarez and her husband, Pedro, and David Odell Gonzalez, and his fiance, Jennifer Chavarria all of Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister, Faye Flavell of Colorado; three grandchildren, Pedro Arturo Alvarez JR., Calixto Leonides Alvarez, and Karalina Marie Perez, all of Corpus Christi, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
