Suzette Wagner

Suzette Elizabeth Traylor Hale Akin Wagner passed away peacefully on July 31, 2021at the young age of 62 due to a short bout with Pneumonia.

Suzette was born on July 31st ,1959 in Picayune Mississippi to Noni and Arthur Traylor. She spent her first precious eight years with her grandparents Frances and Jules Abadie known to her as “Maw Maw and Paw Paw” in Slidell Louisiana . She moved to Corpus Christi in 1967 and became a lifelong resident .

She graduated from Mary Carroll high school in 1977. During her life she made many friends and had numerous jobs. One of her most notable jobs was driving a truck for the man who raised her O.R. Hale . Hale Boys Trucking was tasked with hauling concrete beams for a Heldenfels project on North Beach. Dad needed help and true to her nature she was willing to lend a hand. Even though she was a girl and his daughter he did not cut her any slack , he expected her to be as good as any seasoned driver. Well, he was pleasantly surprised by her physical strength and willingness to make him proud. Although, she was a good driver she realized it was not the career for her.

Suzette was blessed with her true calling and purpose in life when she became a Mother to her only child Austin James Akin.

Her other passions in life included Loving her family, cooking incredibly delicious food and enjoying all her pets which she could train to perform the cutest of tricks on command.

Suzette or “Q” will be missed by her family and friends most for her easy going laid back personality , her quick wit and sense of humor and her incredible ,insanely good, Bacon and Butter infused cooked with love , comfort food.

She is survived by her husband of 15 years Scott Wagner. Scott loved her and took tremendously good care of her during her weakest moments. She also leaves behind a sister Shannon Hale Gulley (Bryan) their children Savannah Gulley Elizalde (Sergio) Adie (9) Aria (7) Noah (3) Taylor Gulley , Carson Gulley , Mallory Gulley

A brother Jay Hale (Nikki) their children Brittany Breland (Joshua) -Kinnley (6) Lane (3) Josh Holt (Jewel) Jules Hale (Michael ) Hudson (1)

A brother John Hale (Mari) their children Jake (16) Cade(14) Chloe (11)

She is also survived by her bird “Tweety” who brought her countless hours of joy…who she even trained to go and do his business on command. Quite a feat for a bird!

She is preceded in death by her grandparents “Maw Maw and Paw Paw” her Mother and Father Noni and O.R. Hale , Her Father Arthur Traylor and her beloved and cherished son Austin James Akin.
