Susan Day

Susan Lynn Day 62 of Corpus Christi TX., passed away on Monday, October 5th, 2020. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on March 23, 1957 to parents Betty Allen Lewis and Joe Daniel Bearden.

Susan was a Teacher at Calallan High School in Corpus Christi for 36 years. During her time there she coached the Challenge Team, leading them in several championships. She chaperoned student groups on travel abroad adventures, sharing in their discovery of Europe. She also taught English at Delmar College for over 20 years. Travel was a passion of hers, in addition to education. Susan was also a member of a Book Club.

Survivors include a son, Joe (Kristin Mason) Day of Tokyo, Japan; daughter, Andrea (Ryan Garza) Day of Corpus Christi, TX.; sister, Cindy (Gary) Cocke of Mansfield, TX.;  grandson, Jackson Gonnell of Corpus Christi, and 6 nieces and nephews. Additionally, Susan leaves behind hundreds of children whom she taught, mentored, and inspired. Susan is preceded in death by her husband, David Lynn Day.
