Stacy Burk

Stacy Burk, age 42, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017. She died while in the hospital from complications after surgery. She was born to Diana Turner Houston and Glenn Tegeler in Corpus Christi, Texas on November 10, 1974. Stacy graduated from Calallen High School in 1993. She received her degree in Nursing from Del Mar College. She loved her profession and was a Clinical Research Coordinator and Nurse. Stacy’s passions were her love of family, friends and her beloved animals. She fell in love with horses as a child and started rodeoing at age 8. She carried this passion throughout her life. She was a member of the Texas Youth Rodeo Association (TYRA), Youth Rodeo Association (YRA), and Texas High School Rodeo Association. Stacy was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Hubert Turner and paternal grandparents, Ben and Hilda Tegeler. Stacy is survived by her husband, David Burk; her mother, Diana Turner (Kenneth) Houston; her father, Glenn (Chris) Tegeler; her brother, Curtis (Sandy) Tegeler; three nieces, Kadi, Paige and Hailey; maternal grandmother, Jean Turner; uncle, Danny Turner; cousins, Chad (Natalie) Turner and Tara (Tree) Baker. The family has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from family and friends. Pallbearers will be Tree Baker, Chad Turner, Shane Howerton, Allen Kaiser, Chuck Daniels and Chris Choate. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home (12497 Leopard St., Corpus Christi, Texas) from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will conducted at 9:30 am on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
