Shirley Tarble passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 15, 2017. She retired from the City of Corpus Christi in 2005 after 27 years at the engineering department. She liked to travel and go places, going to movies and out to eat. She was a faithful catholic all her life, and went to Mass and prayed the Rosary daily. She will be missed dearly by all her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, John, Jr. and Lille Juranek; her husband, Calvin Tarble; a grandson, Timothy Jude; and her sister-in-law, Pat Juranek. She survived by her son, John Tarble, and a daughter-in-law, Christie Tarble; two brothers, Charles and James Juranek; two sisters, Georgia Matula and Geraldine Cortino; sister-in-law, Bobbie Juranek; two brothers-in-law, Robert Cortino, Jerome Matula; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends who loved her very much. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Violet, Texas.
