Shirley Ann Parker, 75, longtime resident of Bishop, Texas, passed away after a short and unexpected illness on the morning of October 17, 2022. She was surrounded by family at the time of her death.
Shirley was born in Mercedes, Texas on May 27, 1947. She graduated Lyford High School in 1965 where she met her husband, Frank (Eddie) Parker. They were married for 56 years, had two children and five grandchildren. Shirley and Eddie had recently moved to Richmond, Texas to be closer to her children and grandchildren.
Shirley loved her family and friends deeply. She made everyone around her feel special, whether you knew her for ten minutes or a lifetime. She was a shining example of a servant’s heart. She gave so much of herself to others and truly lived out the command to put others before yourself. While our hearts are filled with great sadness, we are also grateful and blessed that she was in our lives and that we were loved by her.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ed and Ima Cain.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Eddie; their children, Steven Parker and wife, Vanessa of Friendswood, Texas, Deborah Lord and husband, Keith of Sugar Land, Texas and five grandchildren, Jenna Parker, Mackenzie Parker Gramstad, Paige Parker, Caroline Lord and Christopher Lord. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Cain and wife, Robin of Arlington, Texas as well as aunts, nieces, nephews and many friends.
We invite family and friends to celebrate Shirley’s life on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Bishop, 311 E 5th St, Bishop, Texas at 10:30 am, followed by a family graveside gathering.
