Shirley Hopkins

Shirley Mae Hopkins (Loehrke) passed away March 24, 2014 after an extended illness. She was born in Greenville, WI on September 13, 1940 and served as a WAC in the United States Army. Shirley enjoyed her time listening to music, her beloved pets, Snickers and Lucky and baking sweets for the neighbor’s kids. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Robert D. Hopkins. Shirley is survived by her three children, Justin Murphy, Cherylyn (Don) Boyd, Beverley (Mike) Douglass; eight grandchildren; Nicholas, Kelby (April), and Murphy Bridwell, Devin, Trevor, and Cade Boyd, and Michael, and Matthew Murphy; five brothers, Ken (Mary) Loehrke, Tom (Joan) Loehrke, Neil Loehrke Freischmidt, Jim, Randy and six sisters, Judy (Jesus) Ortega, Betty Rammer, Sharon (Bob) Ebben, Patti (Larry) Steward, Jeanette (Nigel) Allen and Tina Miller. Shirley is also survived by nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 at Grace United Methodist Church, 14521 Northwest Blvd., Corpus Christi, Texas. Burial will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Monday March 31, 2014. We welcome donations to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
