Shirley Brooks

Shirley Nadene Brooks, 75, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012. She was born May 1, 1936 in Mathis, Texas to William Henry and Marguerite Dolan Carr. Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Sharon Frietag and her husband of over 55 years, Caddo Brooks in 2008. She is survived by her son, Bill Brooks of Corpus Christi, Texas; her daughter, Sandra (David) Rathke of Corpus Christi, Texas; six grandchildren, Shawnna (Sterling Brucks) Bass, Matthew, Chase, Kiersten and Lance (Teri) Rathke and Cheryl Collins; six great grandchildren, Meagan and Kayla Pittman, Daryn, Torie and Cason Rathke and Coby Collins; one great great grandchild, Greyson Henry. Visitation will be from 1 P.M. until 9 P.M. with the Rosary to be recited at 7 P.M. Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Thursday, November 29, 2012 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church on FM 624 with Rev. Msgr. Michael Howell as celebrant. Burial will follow in Seaside Memorial Park.
