Sharon Statler Harlan of Corpus Christi, Texas, age 58, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2011 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Sharon was born on May 2, 1953 to James Clay and Mary Edith Statler. She and her family moved to Corpus Christi after her father got out of the service. Sharon graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1971. Sharon had worked for Southwest Airlines for ten years and left for a career in media and marketing sales. She recently retired from the Corpus Christi Caller-Times after 15 years of service. She will always be remembered for her love of life, laughter, the outdoors, her generosity, devotion to her friends and family, and her innate ability to never let regret get in the way of chasing her dreams. Sharon was known for being a wonderful friend and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and a deeply passionate person who will be missed by many. She is preceded in death by her parents: James Clay and Mary Edith Statler and her sister, Dyan Statler Reed. She is survived by her husband, Steve Harlan; her five children: Courtney Cox (Clint), Hunter Tegeler (Courtney), Matt Harlan, Jared Harlan, and Ryan Harlan; one grandchild, Ryleigh Grace Tegeler. Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Corpus Christi, Texas on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 beginning at 2:00 p.m.. Burial services will be held at Barksdale Cemetery in Barksdale, Texas on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to MD Anderson Cancer Center-Brain and Spine Center in Sharon’s name
