Saraphine Marie Skoruppa, 92, peacefully passed away at her home on January 19th, 2021 in Violet, Texas. Saraphine was born on March 29th, 1928 to Jacob and Ellanora Ranly.
In 1944, Saraphine worked at the Corpus Christi Court House. It was during this time that she met and married William (Bill). Later on, Saraphine worked as the Tuloso-Midway ISD cafeteria manager for many years.
She was a life-long member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Violet where she dedicated her life to serving the church and others. Saraphine loved participating in church activities such as Octoberfest and religious education.
Saraphine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bill.
She is survived by her sister, Leonita Otahal. She is also survived by her eleven children: daughters, Jeanette (Jim) Mensen of Decorah, Iowa, Judy Skoruppa of Yorktown, VA, Joan (Paul) Vinson of San Antonio, Lavonne (Bill) Davis of Tomball, TX; sons, Sammy (Jane) Skoruppa, Arthur (Jeanette) Skoruppa, Douglas (Gayle) Skoruppa, Clifton (Cindy) Skoruppa, Ernest (Susan) Skoruppa, Glenn (Lisa) Skoruppa, and Keith (Denise) Skoruppa all residents of Violet, TX.
29 Grandchildren: Kristy, Molly, Jeffrey, Dana, Brandy, Dustin, Jennifer, Julie, Jacob, Donna, Jay, Roma, Dianna, Eric, Aaron, Daniel, Sara, Lisa, Ryan, Todd, Riley, Haley, James, William, Weston, Makayla, Kaitlan, Shawn and Colby.
33 Great-Grandchildren: Carter, Rachael, Ethan, Emma, Melanie, Crystal, Austin, Brenna, Brailey, Deklin, Fallon, Ty, Lane, Claira, Henry, Korryn, Zerah, Riana, Cade, Caroline, Elle, Jarrett, Ian, Isaiah, Adam, Marian, Collin, Caleb, Cody, Emma, Audrey, Kambry and Audrey.
6 Great-Great Grandchildren: Troy, Trevor, Taylor, Weston, Alera and Jessalyn.
A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 9:30AM, with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Violet, Texas. Interment to follow at St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Violet, Texas.
Our entire family greatly appreciates the many kind words that have been sent to us and the great amount of prayers that we have received. Unfortunately, due to the current pandemic, we would like to kindly ask that the Funeral Mass be limited to family members only. For the Graveside at St Anthony Cemetery, friends and family are welcome.
