Sarah Gaines

Sarah Ruth Gaines, 81, of Temple, Texas passed away peacefully on August 26, 2020 at the Creekside Terrace Rehabilitation Facility in Belton, Texas, after a long and prosperous life.

She was born in Alfred, Texas on July 24, 1939 to George Austin and Mary Charlotte (Willingham) Pack. She married Charles Thomas “Cotton” Gaines on October 12, 1956 in Robstown, Tx. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Preceding her in death are her beloved husband, Charles, whom she lovingly called, “Beeb”, her parents, George and Mary, sisters Pauline Drake, Vera Pearl Pack, Georgia May Stewart and Linda Pack and brothers Bill Pack, Garland Pack, Willard Pack and Willie Pack. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her beloved children, son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sherrie Gaines of Robstown, Tx. and daughters, Carla Tracey of Rosharon, Tx. and Dianna Mitchell of Temple, Tx. Grandchildren, Elisabeth (James) Kotzur of Floresville, Tx., Joshua (Stephani) Gaines of Robstown, Tx., Selbert “B.J.” Tracey, Jr. of Rosharon, Tx, Charles “Charlie” Tracey of Rosharon, Tx., Collin Mitchell of Killeen, Tx., Travis Mitchell of Temple, Tx, great grandchildren Mason Kotzur of College Station, Tx, Wesley Kotzur of Floresville Tx, Clara Kotzur of Floresville, Tx, Whitley Gaines of Robstown, Tx and Gavin Gaines of Robstown, Tx.  She is also survived by sisters, Annabelle Hilton and Carolyn Poncik and various nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Tx. on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 from 9-10 a.m., with services following at 10 a.m. Graveside service will be held at Robstown Memorial Park with Brother, Al Perry officiating. Sarah’s son, Larry and grandsons, Josh, B.J., Charlie, Collin and Travis serving as pallbearers.

The family expresses their gratitude to all who touched Sarah’s life during her 81 years here on earth. She loved her friends and family dearly, and, will be missed by all who loved and cherished her.
