Garland

Sandra Lee Tomlinson, a remarkable woman loved by many, passed away on June 26, 2023, at the age of 88. She was an incredible wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a cherished friend. Sandy was born on October 1, 1934, in Lewistown, Pennsylvania to William Irving and Margaret Lillith Curry McCreary. At the age of 15, her family relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas, where she met Walter Artie Tomlinson. They tied the knot on November 6, 1952, and shared 46 years together.

Their early married life was an adventure, following the oil rigs across southern Texas until they finally settled in Corpus Christi in 1959. Sandy and W.A. started Annaville Feed and Seed in 1966, a business they later sold. From 1970 to 1976, she delighted the students at Tuloso-Midway Middle School's cafeteria with her delicious breads and desserts. In 1987, Sandy began a new chapter, working in various administrative roles at Coastal Bend Bank and later at Bank of Robstown. Later in life, she loved her job as an aide on a school bus for children with disabilities for Calallen ISD.

Despite the demands of work and raising four children, Sandy made time for her passions. She was an avid league bowler for over 50 years, and shared 42 years of fun with the same Bunco group. Sandy had a knack for metal detecting, gardening, collecting antiques, sewing, crafting, and she always went all out with amazing costumes on Halloween. Her Christmas decorations were legendary - she outdid herself every year. Additionally, she was a proud, two-time cancer survivor!

Sandy leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She is survived by her son, Walter Lynn Tomlinson, and his wife, Deborah J. Farris; her daughter, Sharon Elaine Tomlinson Crane and her husband, Vincent J Crane, and her daughter, Linda Gail Tomlinson Wegner. In addition, she was adored by her grandchildren, Wesley J Crane (Adibeh), Walter Steven Tomlinson, Daniel Allen Tomlinson, Leslie Kay Wegner, Carrie Lynn Wegner, William David Wegner, Richard Lee Tomlinson Davis (Tabitha), and William Rileigh Tomlinson Davis. Sandy also found immense joy in her great-grandchildren, Dillon, Landon, Logan, Liam, Casyn, Victor, and Emma.

She is preceded in death by her husband, W.A. Tomlinson; her brother, William McCreary; her sister, Peggy Price; her son, Richard Tomlinson; son-in-law, David Wegner; granddaughter, Kristen Michelle Crane, and granddaughter, Lindsay Ann Crane.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, from 6-8 p.m. at Sawyer George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi. We will come together to celebrate Sandy's incredible life on Friday, July 7, at 9:30 a.m. at Sawyer George Funeral Home, followed by a graveside dedication.

Sandy will forever remain in our hearts, her memory serving as a reminder of the love, joy, and fun she brought into our lives.
