Sandra Lee Cornett Mikulencak, 68, of Portland, Texas, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2010. She was born March 10, 1942 in Papalote, Texas. Sandra was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church. She had been on the Board and was a Past President of the Clara Driscoll Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, was a charter member, had been on the Board and was a Past President of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, was a member of the National Society of the Magna Charta Dames, the Society of the Colonial Dames XVII, the United Daughters of the Confederacy – Texas Division and the Real Great Granddaughter Club. She was preceded in death by her father, Luke Lee Cornett and her step mother, Mamie Cornett. She is survived by her husband, James E. Mikulencak of Portland, Texas; her children, Lawrence (Patricia) Mikulencak of Corpus Christi, Texas, Michele (Gary) Hinton of Odem, Texas, John (Linda) Mikulencak and Jim (Cammy) Mikulencak all of Corpus Christi, Texas; her grandchildren, Lauren, Amanda, Whitney, David, Marcus, Joshua, Levi, Luke, Jake, Kimberly, Johnny, Madeline, Joseph, Benjamin and Hudson; her great grandchildren, Evelyn, Nathan, Parker, Hailee, Oliver, James and Edward; her mother, Ruth Gregorczyk; her sisters, Sue Ramsey and Peggy Heiman; her brother, Pat Gregorczyk; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, with the family present from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Robert Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Papalote Protestant Cemetery in Papalote, Texas. Pallbearers will be her grandsons including Levi, Luke, Jake and Joshua Hinton, Johnny, David, Marcus, Benjamin, Hudson, and Joseph Mikulencak.
