Sandra Bristol

Sandra Lea Counts Bristol, 79 years old, entered the gates of our Heavenly Father on September 4, 2020 following a short illness. She was born January 21, 1941 in Burdick, Kansas to Marcela Smith and Clarence Brunner. She grew up in Aztec, New Mexico where she met her husband of 55 years, Robert Cloyd Bristol. After multiple stops along the way, including many years in Laredo, Texas, Sandra and Bob finally settled in Robstown, Texas. She was secretary at the Robstown United Methodist Church for 18 years. She later moved to Corpus Christi, Texas.

Sandra will be always be remembered for her kind, compassion toward others, her giving heart and her beautiful smile. She never met a stranger and her gift of gab brought joy to everyone she encountered. She supported all of her children and grandchildren in their many adventures and accomplishments including FFA, 4-H, USMC, US Navy, Texas A&M, Drill team, Cheerleading, sports and Halloween. Sandra dressed them all (including herself) in costumes she lovingly made. They all loved to play practical jokes on her and she took it ALL in stride laughing along with them.

Sandra was the local Avon lady for over 25 years – her customers just loved to see her coming with not only gifts for all but with a bright smile and multiple stories to share. She was very involved in her church life, volunteering for United Methodist Women and leading bible study in her Seekers class. She never missed an opportunity to cook for and help others in her church and her community.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Billy (Moon) Bristol and daughters Teri (Keith) Tinnell, Gay Lyn (John) Meyer, Jeni Bristol; 5 grandchildren, John Jr (Annie) Meyer, Bobbi (Rich) Swedberg, Brooke (Tim) Kelly, Matthew and Austin Ratliff; and 3 great grandchildren Beckett, Jolene, and Logan. She is also survived by 3 half sisters (Shirley Bushy, Inez Martines, Joyce Boehm), a brother-in-law, Jon Bristol, many nieces and nephews as well as numerous friends she treasured dearly.

Sandra was preceded in death by Bob, her loving husband, her parents, her sister-in-law Pat Bristol and her niece Carla Boehm-Luttrell.
