Ruben Escobar, Jr.

Ruben Escobar, Jr., age 52, of Robstown, Texas passed away after a short illness on June 27, 2014 surrounded by his beloved family. He was born December 14, 1961 in Robstown, Texas to Ruben, Sr. and Adelia Escobar. He was preceded in death by his parents, a niece, Cheyenne Cantu and his special pets Sonny and Sydney. Ruben is survived by his sisters, Janie E. (Joe) Perez, Delia Escobar, Julie E. (Oswaldo) Olmeda, Cleo E. Mireles, Pearla E. (Rudy) Rendon; brother, Ronnie (Rosie) Escobar; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Visitation with the family will be from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 29, 2014 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Robstown, Texas. Interment will follow at the Robstown Memorial Park. The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to the nurses and Sound Doctors at the ICU Unit at Spohn South Hospital and to his nephew, Orlando Perez and his niece Samantha Olmeda. His nephews will serve as pallbearers.
