Roy Smith Dennis Sr. departed from this world 9/19/2017 on his 81st birthday! Born 9/19/1936 to Flynn Howard Dennis and Faye Marie Robbins/Dennis in Nueces County! He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Flynn Howard Dennis Jr.; his first wife Wilma Faye Jauer Dennis in 1996. He married his high school sweetheart Wilma Faye Jauer/Dennis and had two children Roy Smith Dennis Jr (Marta) and Julie Ann Dennis/Davis (Chuck). He then married Wynona (Nonie) Marie Blair/Dennis and got two more children Denise Marie Smith (Arthur) and Ralph (Bubba)Gamble Jr. (Lisa)He is also survived by his grandchildren Jesse Davis (Brandy), Luke Davis (Crissha), Nichole Finto (David), Devon Price (Trey), Erica McElroy (Ryan), Aaron Sweatt, Christopher Gamble and 22 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends!He was a proud Marine in the United States Marine Corp for 8 years. He actually taught school for a while and then worked many years in oil and gas. Later he joined his dad in farming until he reached his goal, bought a ranch and was a Rancher until the end. He was a man with great integrity and a “wicked sweet sense of humor”! He will be missed by many. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home.Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will Follow at the Dennis Family Cemetery.
