Rosa Louise Tschoerner, 91, of Fayetteville, Georgia quietly passed from this life and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday April 4, 2016. Rosa was born in Robstown, Texas on December 20, 1924 and graduated from Robstown High School. From a child into young adulthood, she was a great assistant to her father as he worked on farm equipment. For nearly 80 years, she was active in St. John’s Lutheran Church and faithfully supported Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Rosa found and eventually married her partner and the love of her life, Arthur Tschoerner, on January 1, 1950 and remained married for 42 wonderful years. Early in her married and family life, Rosa worked for a cotton buyer and later for General Telephone and Electric Corporation for 20 years. She enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, cooking, and quilting often donating these quilts to church charity fund raising. As a wife, mother, and grandmother, Rosa will be remembered by her family as an insightful and courageous woman, and will continue to be an inspiration to her friends and family. Rosa is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Bill and Julie Tschoerner of Houston, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Darrell Echols of Peachtree City, Georgia; grandchildren, Hailey and Brian Echols; and many loving nieces and nephews. Rosa is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Tschoerner; parents Annie and Fred Grote; her sisters Lena Burnett and Millie Grote; and a brother E. H. Grote. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2016 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 9, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church in Robstown, Texas with Pastor Sarah Nye officiating. Interment will follow at Robstown Cemetery at 3:00 pm with a fellowship being held at St. John's Lutheran Church afterwards. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations may be given to the Food Bank of Corpus Christi, 826 Krill Street, Corpus Christi, TX 78408. The family wishes to thank Dogwood Forrest and Gentiva Hospice Care for their assistance and support over the past year.
