Ronnie Daryl Watson was born in Dumas, Texas to Dale and Corine Watson on July 12, 1953. On Monday, February 22, 2021, he went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was a graduate of the University of Mary Harden-Baylor and studied at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Jimmie.
He is survived by his wife, Pamala Watson and his mother, Corine Watson; his daughters, Shanna (James) Rutledge, Shea (Ricky) Lariviere and Shalan Watson. Also surviving are his siblings and their spouses, Gwen (Larry) Craig, Gary (Virginia) Watson and Bruce (Bettye Jo) Watson; sister-in-law, Arlinda and family; stepchildren, Andy, Matt and Scott Benton and Christina, Lacey, Aimie and Jonathan. He adored his grandchildren and great grand baby and delighted in being Grandpa.
At a young age Ronnie was called to the ministry, then served as Pastor in numerous churches throughout Texas for over 30 years. He taught in the prison system, taught students how to drive, and was a funeral director at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Ronnie loved Friday night lights at Calallen football games. He loved to serve, to sing, to laugh, and most of all to share Jesus.
As we say goodbye, we will remember his kind heart, compassion, and his sincere love for people.
A visitation will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 9:00AM – 10:00AM at Annaville Baptist Church with a funeral service to begin at 10:00AM. Interment will follow the funeral service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Robstown, Texas.
