Ronald Simmons

Ronald Eugene Simmons, age 75, passed away on February 6, 2016 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Ron was born on June 16, 1940, in Toledo, Iowa, to George and Esther (Heishman) Simmons. Ron worked for Allwaste Services for many years. He later went on to retire from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice in Beeville, TX. He enjoyed woodworking and visiting with the neighbors. The highlight of his day was playing with his great granddaughters and watching his grand children grow. He was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, George and Esther Simmons, brother, Claire Simmons and his wife Lola, his sister, Wilma Kline and her husband Keith, nephews, Tony Simmons and Terry Kline, and one niece, Becky Kline. Ron is survived by his loving wife Mary Lou (Davidson) Simmons, daughters Debbie Miller (Don) of Webster, Texas and Brenda Wright (Rob) of Robstown, Texas, his sons Michael Simmons of Friendswood, Texas and Todd Simmons of Corpus Christi, Texas. He has 7 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Sawyer-George Funeral Home. The funeral service celebrating Ron's life will be on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Sawyer-George Funeral Home.
