Roger W. Thompson, 86, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away peacefully at home on November 12, 2024. He was born in Lima, Peru on July 16, 1938 to Bernard and Eunice Mallernee Thompson, while they were doing missionary work in the areas of Lake Titicaca and Quito, Equador.
Roger attended W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi in 1957. He was passionate about sports, having played baseball, tennis, and golf. In 1998, he retired from Horace Mann Insurance Company where he had qualified for many trips that allowed him to play on different golf courses, while his wife enjoyed the tours.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mildred and husband, Lonnie Carlton, and brother, Kenneth Thompson.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, of 46 years, Ann Thompson; daughter, Lana Taylor of Cypress, Texas, stepson, David Lewis of Robstown, Texas; granddaughter, Samantha Taylor, and great granddaughter, Gracie Taylor, niece, Cheryl (David) Morrisette; nephew, Steve (Jana) Carlton and extended family and friends.
A special thank you to Nurse Ashley and to Roger's special angel Ali, with Christus Hospice, as well as his confidant, Ninfa. Roger will be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
