Rodolfo Salazar Cruz, age 69, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away on September 3, 2015. In his final hours he was surrounded by only love, in the presence of his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was born June 23, 1946 in Pleasanton, Texas to Amador and Refugia Salazar Cruz. Rodolfo served his country as a radio operator during the era of the Vietnam War from 1966-1968. He also worked for several years within the refineries. Rodolfo lived a full and vibrant life. He enjoyed spending time with his ever growing family, catching a Cowboys game, and carpentry. Those who knew Rodolfo can attest to the fact he was never a victim to his disease and always a fighter. Of all the wisdom he shared, his legacy to his family is that hard work and a positive attitude will get you anywhere you need to go. Rodolfo is survived by his wife of forty years, Mary Ann Cruz; daughters, April (Van) Cruz, Cindy (Josh) De La Fuente, Elisa V. (Robert) Aleman; son, Rodolfo J. (Angelica) Cruz; brother, Robert Cruz; twelve grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 2:00 to 7:00 P.M. with the Rosary for Rodolfo being recited at 7:00 pm in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on at 10:00 am. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Salazar Cemetery in Jourdanton, Texas at 2:00 pm. Wednesday, September 9, 2015.
