The highest honor he received was the call of God on his life and to be licensed to preach and teach the Word of God. For the last 40 years, He was involved with prison ministry in many prisons around the US. For the last 2 years he was a part of the Kairos Prison Ministry where he taught the Word of God to so many. He married Carole Hunt, of Irving Texas in 1962. They just celebrated their 57th wonderful year of marriage. They have 2 children; Velicia and Steven. His hobbies were gardening and his "greatest extravagance", restoring a 1951 Chevy similar to the one he drove in High School. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Weatherford. His mother, Marguerite Potter. His brother, Jim Weatherford. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carole Weatherford of Corpus Christi, Texas; his daughter, Velicia and Jason Uphoff of Ingleside, Texas; his son, Steven Weatherford of Corpus Christi, Texas; three grandchildren Kaylen, Karis, Camden of Ingleside, Texas; two great grandchildren Elijah, and Emilyn of Ingleside, Texas. In Lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Samaritans Purse, his favorite charity. Something he'd like to tell the next generation is that true wisdom is from God and that history repeats itself.
