Robert Samuel Gray Jr., age 69, of Annaville, passed away on May 28, 2022. He was born in Liberty, Texas on October 21, 1952 to Leah and Robert Gray Sr.
Sam graduated King High School and started working at Thrift Tex (HEB) and was asked to take care of the sporting section. Sam worked in the oil field and started his own business as a chimney sweep. His son said he was the best chimney sweep around. He then received his electrical license and worked for Rabalais Electric for 10 years. He then joined the IBEW, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and worked for Scott Electric for 25 years, where he retired. Sam loved to go fishing with his son and grandson as well as coaching his son in baseball and attend his great-grandchildren‘s sporting events.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Samuel Gray Sr. and his mother, Leah Appleman Gray; sisters, Marion Roberta Gray and Bobbie Gray Truell (Jerry).
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Ahline Jeanette Lunsford Gray; and the pride of his life, his son, Robert Ashley Gray; his daughters, Robbye Denise Overton and Sherry Deann Blasingame; his grandchildren, Amy Denise Overton, Cody James Overton (Samantha), Sheri Danielle Blasingame and Brianna Ahline Blasingame; great-grandchildren, Chaise Braeden Overton, Aiden Wayne, Alec Wayne Overton, Ryan James Overton, Mason Kyle Overton, Phoenix Dawn Ramiro, Charles (Charlie) Anthony McMeans, Cadence (Cady) Rae McMeans; sisters, Sandra Gray Carter (Leslie), Jamey Gray McDaniel (Jackie) and Carrie Gray Smith (Harold); nieces and nephews, Vicki Truell Hufford (Rodney), J.J. Truell Maples (Kevin), Richard Carter, Christi Carter Johnson (David), Jeannie Carter, Frank McDaniel, Tomie McDaniel, Leah Smith Findlow (Nick) and Cody Smith.
A viewing will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 1pm.
