Richard Morgan

Richard "Dick" Joshua Morgan, 83, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Monday, June 18, 2012 at his home after a long illness. He was born November 8, 1928 in Correctionville, Iowa to John H. and Ella Blanch Morgan. He was a U. S. Navy veteran, a member of Grace United Methodist Church and retired as an administrator from Calallen I.S.D. after 37 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Tinkie Morgan. He is survived by his wife, Joan Morgan of Corpus Christi, Texas; his daughters, Cindy Rio of Kodiak, Alaska, Brenda Morgan of Plainsboro, New Jersey and Heather Meza of Corpus Christi, Texas; his son, Tracy Nelson of Corpus Christi, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. with the family present from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Friday, June 22, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with The Rev. Stan Whites officiating. Graveside services with full military honors will be conducted at 9 A.M. Wednesday, June 27, 2012 in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.
