Richard Ernest Denman was born on September 13, 1941 in San Angelo, Texas to Cole Frank and Jo Alice Bratcher Denman. He passed away on May 8, 2016 after a courageous, yet short battle with cancer. He graduated from San Angelo Central High School where he was a star athlete in football and track. He met the love of his life, Sandra Kay Baker on a blind date. On January 20, 1962 they were married, and together they have lived in San Angelo, Big Lake, and Odessa before moving to Corpus Christi to start their own business, Basin Industrial X-Ray. They ran this business until the time of his death. They have been married for 54 years. Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Cole and Jo Denman; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Beverly Denman. He is survived by his wife, Sandy; sister, Rolynda Kay (Alex) Decuir of San Angelo, Texas; two children, Melynda (Charlie) Heflin of Robstown, Texas and Michael (Dawn) Denman of Corpus Christi, Texas. “Paw Paw” leaves behind six grandchildren, Ronnie (Amberlie) Heflin of Crittenden, KY, Dillon and Tyler Denman of San Antonio, Texas, Cassidy (Jarret)Watts of Corpus Christi, Texas and Jarrett and Samuel Heflin of Robstown, Texas. He also leaves behind three great-grandsons, Ethan Kade Applewhite and Brody Cole Heflin of Crittenden, KY, and Brayden Lane Watts of Corpus Christi, Texas. Visitation with the family will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will also be held at Sawyer-George Funeral Home at 10 am on Friday, May 13, 2016. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Ronnie, Jarrett and Samuel Heflin, Dillon and Tyler Denman and Jarret Watts. Burial will be a private ceremony with the immediate family.
