Rev. Rosa

Rev. Salvador De La Rosa, age 86 of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away suddenly at his home on November 15, 2012. He was born October 29, 1926 in Mexico, to Luis and Rosa De La Rosa. He married the love of his life, Carolina Elguezabal on October 22, 1955. Salvador was an Ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. He pastored in Dr. Montes de Oca Veracruz from 1952-1953, La Primera A/D in Harlingen, Texas from 1954-1958, Templo Getsemani in Fort Worth, Texas from 1958-1961, Templo Emanuel in Crystal City, Texas from 1961-1969, Templo Emanuel in San Angelo, Texas from 1969-1971, Spanish Assembly of God in Marlin, Texas from 1971-1973, Templo El Buen Pastor in Austin, Texas from 1973-1977, Templo La Trinidad in Rio Hondo, Texas from 1977-1979 and Templo Jerusalem in Robstown, Texas from 1979-2004. He retired and enjoyed the rest of his years along side his wife and children. Salvador is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Carmela De La Rosa and Dolores Cuevas; brothers, Dario De La Rosa, Luisrey De La Rosa and Luis De La Rosa. He is survived by his wife, Carolina De La Rosa of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters, Esther D. Martinez of Corpus Christi, Texas, Becky D. (Rick) Reyes of Pharr, Texas; sons, Edward (Norma) De La Rosa of Uvalde, Texas, Salvador Jr. (Amy) De La Rosa of Pharr, Texas, David (Irma) De La Rosa of Del Rio, Texas; sisters, Rosa Maria Garza of Piedras Negras, Coahuila and Raquel Martinez of Eagle Pass, Texas. Salvador enjoyed his grandchildren, Ricardo Jr. (Elizabeth) Reyes of Pharr, Texas, Roberto (Brittany) Reyes of San Antonio, Texas, Gerald Martinez of Corpus Christi, Texas, Alejandro De La Rosa of Uvalde, Texas, Esteban De La Rosa of Uvalde, Texas, Rogelio Reyes of Pharr, Texas, David Bryan De La Rosa of Del Rio, Texas, Eric Anthony De La Rosa of Uvalde, Texas and Kelly Dolci De La Rosa of Del Rio, Texas and his many nieces and nephews. Salvador loved his family very much. He had a heart of gold and blessed many people with his ministry. He will be dearly missed. Celebration service will be held from 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home, 12497 Leopard St., Corpus Christi, Texas with Rev. David De La Rosa officiating. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November, 21, 2012 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, 4607 FM Road 1889, Robstown, Texas with Rev. Edward De La Rosa officiating.
