Randy Collins, 67, of Orange Grove, passed away on June 6, 2023.
He was born July 23, 1955 to Floyd Donald Collins and Naomi Ruth Collins-Moses.
Randy grew up in Aransas Pass and put down roots in Orange Grove. He and his wife, Lela, established the Collins Ranch in 2003, where he enjoyed the simplicity of life, building it from the ground up with their love, laughter, hard work, and sweat.
He had a passion for his horses, dancing as often as he could, was a jack of all trades, and would give all he had to help those he loved.
He considered work a second home and his coworkers his second family. Randy started his career at the age of 16 as a deckhand and worked his way to be one of the most loved and successful captains in his industry at Loyd W. Richardson (Capt of the Sea Hog), Anderson Marine (later Blessey Enterprises), Texaco Marine, Higman Barge Lines, Capital Towing, Brown Water Marine, and NGL (Capt of the Mountaineer).
Randy spent hot Texas days and starry nights with his horses and friends on many trail rides. Belonging to several trail riding clubs, like the Ice Wagon Classic Riders, gave Randy the opportunity to build camaraderie with good friends while out on the trails.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Floyd Wayne Collins, Steve William Collins, and Jody Richard Collins, and in Randy’s own words “one grandson waiting on me”.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years Lela Collins. 1 sister Naomi R. Collins-Mircovich. His children; Randy Donald Collins Jr., Naomi Ra’Chel Collins, Phillip Arron Collins, Charles Hull and Shelley Duffy (Tyler), and Bryan Roschetzky (Stephanie). Randy was blessed by 19 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
