Ralph G. Wilson, 94, a former lifetime resident of Robstown, Texas, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016. He was born November 18, 1921, weighing in at 2 pounds. His parents, Reginald George and Mallie Gertrude Wilson used their kitchen oven as their incubator to keep him warm. He served in the Army-Air Corp during WWII leaving out of March Field Air Base, California on September 18, 1943, serving on Saipan, Guam and Okinawa returning home on November 17, 1945. Ralph retired at the age of 55 from Amoco (BP) after 35 years of service. His retirement gave him time for fishing, hunting, golfing, gardening and wine making. He loved spending time with his family camping in the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 62 years, Carolyn “Ann” Wilson, his parents, three brothers and six sisters. He was the seventh child of ten children, being the last to be called home. He is survived by his two sons, David Ralph and wife Nancy of Abilene, Texas and Richard “Ricky” and wife Vickie of Corpus Christi, Texas; five grandchildren, David John (Shelly) Wilson, Melanie Clark, Gregg Wilson, Melissa Malone, and Brian (Jen) Wilson; 13 great grandchildren. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral service. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 25, 2016 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Simmons officiating. Graveside services will follow at Robstown Memorial Park Cemetery.
