Ralph Skinner, Jr.

Ralph W. Skinner, Jr., age 76, went to be with his Lord on March 13, 2016. Ralph was born in Kinston, North Carolina on March 25, 1939 to Ralph W. Skinner and Hollie Paramore Skinner. In 1957, he graduated from Jones Central High School in Trenton, North Carolina, then went on to serve four years active duty in the US Navy from 1957-1961. He had been a resident of Corpus Christi for 58 years. Ralph held a Master Electrician license and worked at Scott Electric Company for 35 years. He was a member of the local Kiwanis Club for many years, where he helped build wheelchair ramps for the handicapped and participated in the annual Christmas citrus sale. He had also served as President of the Club. He served on the Board of Directors at the IBEW Credit Union from 1991-2009. His hobbies included fishing, boating, and traveling. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Dee, his children, Steve Skinner (and wife Laura) of Odem, Todd Skinner (and wife Dianna) of Odem, Shannon (Skinner) Manthei (and husband Richard) of Corpus Christi, and Amy (Skinner) Keliehor of Montgomery, twelve grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Sr. and Hollie Skinner and son Mark Skinner. The family will receive visitors Friday, March 18, from 10:00-11:00 at Sawyer George Funeral Home, Corpus Christi, followed by a memorial service at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to the American Heart Association, National Kidney Foundation, American Diabetes Foundation, or Kiwanis International.
