Rafael Leonidas Brignoni, 54, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2011. He was born August 28, 1956 in Bronx, New York, was a Staff Sergeant having served in the U. S. Air Force and was an aircraft mechanic. Rafael was a member of St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church where he sang in the choir, and was a 4th degree knight in the Knights of Columbus #7290. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his father, Pedro Antonio Brignoni, Jr. and his grandmother, Juana (Abuela) Pelaez. He is survived by his wife, Kim Brignoni; his children, Pamela Brignoni, Nicholas Brignoni, Karen Brignoni Drillen, Shelby Brignoni and Kolby Brignoni; his mother, Evangelina Brignoni; his siblings, Gigi (Scott) McIntyre, Lillian (Luis) Barbaran, Rose Escobosa, Evelyn (Kenny) Metcalf, Peter (Rachel) Brignoni and Michael Brignoni; his grandchildren, Dylan Schleuter, Morgan Drillen, Stormie Drillen, Aidan Schleuter and Connor Lee; 18 nieces and nephews. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M. Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Thursday, July 7, 2011 at St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Morgan Rowsome as celebrant. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park with military honors. Pallbearers will be Juan Cabasos, Don Stevens, Ray Schroeder, Doodle Jarnigan, Dennis Havrda and Ryan Schroeder. Honorary pallbearers will be E. J. Arnecke and Roy Richter.
