Peggy Jean Keeble Phillips, 82 of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away June 29, 2018. She was born February 9, 1936 in Mexia, Texas and was a member of River Hills Baptist Church. Peggy grew up in Corpus Christi and graduated from Ray High School. She met her soon to be husband, Charles W. Phillips while he was stationed at Naval Air Station, Corpus Christi. The couple married on April 3, 1953. She and her husband of 65 years were owners of Robstown Auto Parts and Radiator Shop, Stonewall Beauty Salon, Stonewall Shopping Center, Stonewall Mobile Home Estates North, Stonewall Mobile Home Estates South, Jackson Woods Mobile Home Park, and Phillips, Inc. Peggy had a love of music which was instilled in her at a very early age as she grew up singing in her church choir. Alzheimer's may have stole many precious memories from her, but it could not take her love of music, the words to every song that was practically ever written, and the joy and laughter that came along with teach tune. Her all-time favorites were the old time gospel hymns. Peggy's love of God was unwavering and she lived each day to the fullest with the belief of the old adage, "This too shall pass." She and her husband supported various Christian ministries throughout the world and did so through their charitable foundation; Phillips Charitable Foundation which was established with the mission statement to "Spread the Word of Jesus Christ to the four corners of the earth." Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Ruby Keeble, father and mother in-law, Frank and Selma Phillips, and grandson, James Landers. She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Phillips of Corpus Christi, Texas; son, Charles (Gina) of Pace, Florida; daughter, Pamela Landers (Dave) Horton of Corpus Christi, Texas; five grandchildren, Jeremy Landers, Jacquelyn (Jimmie) Williams, Joshua Landers, Jeanne (Michael) Hominick, Will Phillips; her five great grandchildren of whom she adored; Brandon, Maya, Hannah, Hayden, and Bradley; sister, Ann Staton of Houston, Texas and brother, Kenneth Keeble of Hallettsville, Texas numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M.to 6:00 P.M. Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Sawyer- George Funeral Home Chapel.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 2, 2018 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Willis Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park and a celebration of her life will be held immediately afterwards. Pallbearers; Austin Brickman, Cage Brickman, Hagan Brickman, Jackie Keeble, Carl Maxwell, Byron Sharon.
