Paula Munoz Gaitan, 87, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at her home after a long illness. She was born January 15, 1923 in Caldwell County, Texas to Medardo and Maria Valdez Munoz. Mrs. Gaitan was a member of Corpus Christi Christian Fellowship and the Woodmen of the World Chapter # 3668 in Orange Grove, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Gaitan on June 9, 1995, and her son-in-law, Ramon Peralez. She is survived by her sons, Louis E. (Elsa) Gaitan of Corpus Christi, Texas and Karl Wayne (Mary) Gaitan of Hempstead, Texas; her daughter, Lynnta Peralez of Orange Grove, Texas; her brothers, Henry and Roy Munoz of New Braunfels, Texas, David Munoz of Toledo, Ohio and Medardo Munoz, Jr. of Corona, California; her sisters, Teresa Suarez and Anita Archuleta of New Braunfels, Texas, Rebecca Everette of La Salle, Michigan, Magdalena “Lena” Nelson of Benson, Arizona and Lydia Rodriguez of Monroe, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Larissa, Karla, Louis, Krystal, James, Karl Wayne, II and Kari; six great grandchildren, Destiny, Angel, Jordan, Lyric, Allie and Evan; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from Noon until 9 P.M. Friday, June 25, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 A.M. Saturday, June 26, 2010 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Walterman of Corpus Christi Christian Fellowship officiating. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank her granddaughter and primary caregiver, Karla, Dr. William Curtis and his staff, Blue Sky Hospice, K-Linn and their staff and Santa Fe Home Health and their staff for their loving care of Mrs. Gaitan.
