Pablo Ortiz Sr.

Pablo M. Ortiz, Sr., age 81, of Corpus Christi, Texas passed away September 2, 2013. He was born January 31, 1932 in Three Rivers, Texas to Felix Franco and Felipa Martinez Ortiz. He was a devout Catholic, a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all. Pablo served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Maria Elisa Zapata; parents, Felix and Felipa Ortiz; sister, Clementina Ortiz; brothers, Pedro, Jesus, Felix, Jr., Lorenzo. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Etelina Ortiz of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter, Yolanda O. Bickle (Charles Bodden) of Corpus Christi, Texas; sons, Pablo (Norma) Ortiz of Odem, Texas, Homer ( Cindy) Ortiz of Port Aransas, Texas, Ricardo (Elsa) Ortiz of Corpus Christi, Texas; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; brother, Apolinar Ortiz of New Braunfels, Texas; sister, Barbara Smithwick of Poteet, Texas. The visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and a rosary will be recited on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. in the Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of The Rosary Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Wesley Bickle Jr., Ricardo G. Ortiz, Jr., Homero M.D. Ortiz, Pablo R. Ortiz III, Joshua J. Ortiz, Steven De Leon.
